These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and QR Code Genie ("QR Code Genie," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of our website, dashboard, API, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
QR Code Genie provides tools to generate static and dynamic QR codes, manage editable redirect links, view scan analytics, run bulk generation jobs, and access these features programmatically via an API. Features, plan limits, and pricing are described on our Pricing page and may change as described in Section 15.
You may create an account using a supported third-party identity provider (such as Google, X or GitHub). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, any API keys issued to you, and all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or suspected compromise of your API key. We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing cycle until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through your billing dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access through that period. Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. We may change pricing prospectively with notice; continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
You agree not to use the Service to create, host, or distribute content or destinations that:
We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, suspend links, disable API keys, or terminate accounts at our discretion, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe this policy has been violated.
"Your Content" means anything you encode, upload, or configure through the Service — including QR payload data, destination URLs, uploaded logo images, contact card details, and dynamic link configuration. You retain all rights to Your Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the rights necessary to use it as intended, including any personal data of third parties you include in it (for example, in a vCard or Wi-Fi credential code).
Dynamic links redirect scanners to a destination you configure and may be edited, paused, or deleted by you at any time. You are solely responsible for the destinations you configure and for ensuring your use of custom domains complies with your own domain registrar's and DNS provider's terms. We reserve the right to suspend or disable any dynamic link or custom domain that violates Section 6, poses a security risk, or that we are required to act on by law or a legitimate third-party complaint.
API access, request quotas, and rate limits are governed by your subscription plan. You are responsible for all activity performed using your API key. You may not share your API key with unauthorized third parties, attempt to circumvent rate limits, or use the API in a way that degrades Service availability for other users. We may throttle, suspend, or revoke API access that we reasonably believe threatens the security, availability, or integrity of the Service.
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by QR Code Genie and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, no rights are transferred to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service itself.
The Service relies on third-party providers, including payment processing (Stripe), edge infrastructure and DNS (Cloudflare), authentication providers (such as Google, X and GitHub), and hosting infrastructure. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or downtime of these third-party providers, though we will make reasonable efforts to maintain Service availability.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any scanned QR code, generated file, or dynamic link will function as intended in all circumstances or on all devices.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, QR Code Genie and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to these terms or the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or twenty five U.S. dollars ($25) if you have not made any payments to us. Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless QR Code Genie and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your dynamic link destinations, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or abuse, or legal requirements. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17) will survive.
You and QR Code Genie agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us. If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, you and QR Code Genie agree that it will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, and you waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. This section does not prevent either party from seeking injunctive relief in court for infringement of intellectual property rights or unauthorized access to the Service. Where applicable law does not permit arbitration or a class-action waiver for a given claim, that specific limitation will not apply to that claim, and the remainder of this section remains in effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (such as posting an updated date on this page or notifying you by email). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and QR Code Genie regarding the Service.
